Adaro Land
The companies within the Adaro Land segment are led by PT Adaro Persada Mandiri (APM), its parent company, and operate to support the Adaro Group's supply chain by providing four types of services:
PT Adaro Persada Mandiri (APM)
In addition to serving as the holding company for the Adaro Group's land segment, APM also centralizes the Group's asset and infrastructure management by providing land management, infrastructure development, leasing, and asset management services. This centralized operation is crucial to the Adaro Group's mining supply chain, ensuring effective and efficient property management. Land management services include land document storage and archiving services, as well as land information system services for Adaro Group companies. Asset management services include asset procurement (land, buildings, furniture, and operational support facilities) and operational facility management.
Some of APM's business activities include:
PT Rehabilitasi Lingkungan Indonesia (RLI)
RLI is a subsidiary of APM that handles revegetation on reclaimed land and provides management, supervision, and implementation services for watershed rehabilitation projects. RLI's role is to integrate post-mining activities (implementation, monitoring, and supervision) to fulfill reclamation obligations in accordance with land handover requirements and assess reclamation success. Watershed rehabilitation and revegetation activities on reclaimed land are mandatory for mining companies, both as holders of Forest Area Borrow-to-Use Permits (IPPKH) and as post-mining obligations.
In 2024, RLI worked on several revegetation projects for PT Adaro Indonesia (AI), consisting of planting a total area of 322 hectares and maintaining an area of 1,584.8 hectares.
For AI, RLI also handled planting critical land in the watershed area and the handover of the area to the Watershed Management Agency (BPDAS). The handover of 386.89 hectares was completed throughout 2024.
PT Agri Multi Lestari (AML)
AML is an agribusiness and biomass supplier subsidiary of APM. It operates revegetation activities on reclaimed land and in forest management to ensure the quality and quantity of materials, as well as operational cost efficiency. In the agribusiness sector, AML produces solid and liquid organic fertilizers from its cattle farms and plant seeds produced in its modern nursery. In 2024, AML produced 1,364 tons of solid organic fertilizer, which was supplied to AI and two other APM subsidiaries, PT Alam Sukses Lestari (ASL) and PT Hutan Amanah Lestari (HAL). The liquid fertilizer production volume reached 56,599 liters, and was used for revegetation and forage grass planting.
In the biomass supply sector, AML produces woodchips to support the co-firing activities of PT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa's (MSW) coal-fired power plant and RLI's revegetation activities (as a supporting material).
In addition to operating in the agribusiness sector and providing biomass, AML also secures land in non-operational areas within the Balangan Group, particularly for rubber plantation conversion. This is a key activity for wood chip production to support the co-firing of the MSW-fired power plant. AML's efforts are part of the Adaro Group's NZE initiative.
PT Alam Sukses Lestari (ASL)
ASL is a subsidiary of APM, which manages forestry assets and holds a Forest Utilization Business Permit (PBPH) for a 19,520-hectare area in East Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan. This permit mandates the company to manage the forest through ecosystem restoration activities within the area. Therefore, ASL manages forests and secures land in mining areas, while also offsetting emissions from mining activities.
Regarding forest management and ecosystem restoration, ASL has submitted a Forest Utilization Business Work Plan (RKUPH) for a 10-year period (2017-2026), which has been approved by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
To realize this RKUPH, ASL engages in carbon trading and the utilization of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs). To support the utilization of environmental services towards carbon trading, ASL has prepared a Mitigation Action Plan Document (DRAM) to further continue the validation and verification process in obtaining a Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Certificate (SPE-GRK), which can later be traded through the Indonesian carbon exchange.
HAL is a subsidiary of APM, which holds a Forest Utilization Business Permit (PBPH) for a 25,800-hectare area in East Barito and South Barito Regencies, Central Kalimantan. Most of HAL's area is peatland. Therefore, HAL can act as a carbon sink to offset carbon emissions generated by mining activities. This permit gives HAL responsibility for forest management to absorb and store carbon.
In 2024, HAL collaborated with ASL to maintain the concession area through land security and forest and land fire prevention (karhutla), biodiversity management and protection services, and social governance. HAL is continuing studies related to the utilization of environmental services through carbon trading to obtain a Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Certificate (SPE-GRK), which can later be traded on the Indonesian carbon exchange.
